Chapter Six

As soon as she shut and locked the door, we were on each other again.

“I have to tell you, this reindeer thing is really working for me,” she said.

I gave her a look. “Seriously?”

Madelyn laughed. “It looks especially easy to get out of.”

“Did you also note the butt flap?” I asked, and her hands slid down to find it.

“Very convenient,” she said. “That’s the downside of wearing a one-piece outfit and having to get undressed every time you have to use the bathroom.”

“True,” I said. My skin practically burned with my need for her, and it was only getting worse. “I was afraid when I put it on that you wouldn’t think I was sexy.”

Madelyn laughed. “Noelle, you’d be sexy in a pile of garbage.”

“Oh really?” I said. A little thrill went through me. Madelyn thought I was sexy. I could die happy.

“Yes. I could barely look at you when you got here. I can barely focus anytime you’re around. Do you know how many mistakes I’ve made the past few days because I kept thinking about you?”

I blinked at her.

“I haven’t exactly been firing on all mental cylinders thanks to you,” I said. “It’s a good thing I’m on vacation from work, or else I might have made some costly mistakes.”

We both laughed.

“You’re even sexier than you were when you babysat me,” I said, and she cringed.

“Don’t talk about that, it makes me feel weird,” she said.

“Because you knew that I had a crush on you?” Might as well get it all out now.

Madelyn smiled softly. “I did know you had a crush. I just never thought you’d show up in my life again. Looking like this.”

“I thought you said the onesie was sexy?” I asked.

“Noelle. I’m talking about what’s under the onesie,” she said, and I felt my face heat.

“Well, what’s under the onesie is a little sweaty right now,” I said, making Madelyn laugh.

“So how about we get you out of it, hm?”

Madelyn backed me into the bedroom and turned on the fireplace.

This was happening and now all I could think about were all the flaws the onesie was covering up.

Madelyn put on some music and came toward me again, reaching for the zipper of the onesie.

“Nervous?” she asked.

“I still can’t really believe I’m standing here with you about to get naked,” I said.

“Same,” she said, her fingers trembling just a little bit.

I reached up and also put my hand on the zipper, on top of hers as I pulled it down to my waist.

Madelyn helped me pull my arms out and I sat on the bed to get the bottom part off. She sat on the floor and yanked on the fabric over my feet as I shimmied the rest down.

By the time the thing was off me, I was breathing as if I’d just run up the stairs.

Madelyn crouched on the floor and looked up at me.

“You’re beautiful, Noelle,” she said.

I threaded my fingers through her hair. “Is it bad for me to say I love the way you look on your knees?”

Her face flushed and her eyes went wide for a second.
